The RemovePaywall browser extension
One click on any article opens it in a clean reader view — free, no login, no ads, no tracking. The same reader-first extraction and archive fallback as the site, without pasting links.
Chrome — coming soon Firefox — coming soon
The extension is in store review. In the meantime, the one-click bookmarklet below works everywhere today.
One-click bookmarklet (works now)
Drag this button to your bookmarks bar, then click it on any paywalled article to open the clean reader:
How it works
- Click the toolbar icon on any article (or right-click a link → Read without paywall).
- It opens the page in RemovePaywall's clean reader — the article text extracted, no clutter.
- If the live page is gated, it automatically checks archive.today and the Wayback Machine.
Private by design
The extension is a thin launcher — it reads the current tab's URL only when you click it, and opens the reader. It does no page manipulation and collects no browsing history. Free, no account, no ads in the reader. If you read a publication regularly, please support it with a subscription.
