About RemovePaywall

RemovePaywall is a free, no-login tool that helps you read articles behind soft and metered paywalls by finding a clean, readable version of the page.

How it works

Paste an article link and we try, in order:

  1. Reader extraction — we fetch the page and pull out the clean article text and title.
  2. Public archives — if the live page is gated, we check archive.today and the Wayback Machine for a captured copy.
  3. Smart proxy — as a last resort we show a script-stripped copy of the page in a sandboxed frame.

It works best on outlets where the article text is present in the page (The Atlantic, WIRED, Business Insider, The New Yorker and many more). Hard subscription walls (e.g. the FT, Bloomberg, WSJ) usually only come through when a public archive exists.

What it isn't

RemovePaywall surfaces publicly available and archived content and the text a page already sends to your browser. It doesn't crack DRM, share credentials, or defeat hard subscription systems. If you read a publication regularly, please consider subscribing — good journalism costs money to make.

Privacy

No accounts, no logins. We keep minimal, standard logs to run and improve the service and don't sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for details.
